In this class, students gain insight into exact and heuristic solution approaches for optimization problems in operations research. They acquire knowledge on how to collect the required data for optimization models and algorithms in operations research, become acquainted with strategic, tactical and operative decision problems in the area of production, logistics and transportation to which these methods can be applied, are enabled to apply the presented methods to these problems, and gain fundamental knowledge on how to embed optimization models in business information systems.

In diesem Kurs erwerben die Studierenden Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten in der (strukturierten) PHP-Programmierung, im Entwurf relationaler Datenbanken, lernen das Datenbankverwaltungssystem MySQL kennen und anwenden und erwerben Grundkenntnisse der Erstellung dynamischer Webseiten mit Datenbankzugriff.

In this seminar, we discuss recent advances in e-fulfilment by different seminar topics, especially

  • vehicle routing for e-fulfilment,
  • pricing for e-fulfilment,
  • green e-fulfilment,
  • as well as operational and tactical design of delivery time windows.

With your registration in Moodle, you are not yet finally enrolled to the seminar. The procedure is as follows: We will present the seminar topics in detail during the first appointment. Then, you can apply for the topics you like, and with your application, we check if you have a quantitative background (e.g. with a study focus on supply chain management) that is required to succeed in this seminar. We do the final assignment of topics in the 2nd appointment, where you can still decide to drop out if you do not like your topic at all.

In this course, the students become acquainted with the basic of programming language C++ according to ANSI standard. They acquire knowledge and learn to apply procedural and object-oriented concepts of C++, develop the ability to design and to implement C++ programs for quantitive problems in business economics.
